To determine the category or sub-category to which your accommodation corresponds, you have to take into account the definition of the accommodation category but also the specific conditions that apply to the operation of this type of accommodation.

Homestay accommodation

  • One to five bedrooms (or separate areas), which are part of your home or its adjoining annexes.
  • High-quality personal welcome for guests (by the operator or the person in charge of the day-to-day management of the accommodation); everything possible is done to facilitate their stay and help them find tourist information.
  • Breakfast included.
  • House cleaned regularly.
  • Household linen provided.
  • Maximum fifteen tourists at any one time.
  • Accommodation available at least four months per year.
 

Furnished tourist accommodation

  • Tourist accommodation reserved exclusively for the use of the tenant and equipped with the furniture required to stay there but not to cook.
  • Hotel services possible (for example, breakfast, beds changed, cleaning, caretaker, reception): subject to payment of a supplement.
  • Reception accessible at least during the day and from Monday to Friday.
 

Tourist residence

  • Villa, house, apartment, studio or bedroom, reserved exclusively for the use of the tenant, equipped with the furniture required to stay there and to cook.
  • Hotel services possible (for example, breakfast, beds changed, cleaning, caretaker, reception): subject to payment of a supplement.
  • Reception accessible at least during the day and from Monday to Friday.
 

Hotel

  • At least six bedrooms or suites.
  • Hotel services included (for example, breakfast, beds changed, rooms cleaned, caretaker, reception).
  • Open at least nine months per year.
  • When open, permanently accessible to tourists.
  • Reception service permanently available.
  • Private bathroom facilities in each room.
 

Aparthotel

  • At least six apartments, studios, flats or similar, furnished, equipped with the furniture required to cook.
  • Hotel services included (for example, breakfast, beds changed, rooms cleaned, caretaker, reception).
  • Household linen provided.
  • Apartment cleaned regularly and other hotel services.
  • Permanently accessible to tourists.
  • Reception located in the building, accessible at least during the day and from Monday to Friday.
 

Social tourism accommodation centre

  • Non-profit establishment.
  • Accommodation in a bedroom or a dormitory.
  • Hotel-type services (for example, breakfast, beds changed, rooms cleaned, caretaker or reception) and entertainment or programmes to explore the region, designed to develop contacts between tourists from different countries and backgrounds.
  • Managed by a non-profit organisation.
  • Reserved for members of the managing organisation.
  • Prices lower than the average prices charged in the hotel sector for equivalent accommodation.
 

Campsite

  • Delimited open-air space to welcome campers.
