List of documents to be attached when applying to run a travel agency on a temporary and occasional basis

If you are making your first declaration that you are running a travel agency, the following documents must be sent to the Economy and Employment Department within 15 days of the first trip organised on the territory of the Brussels-Capital Region.
  1. proof of the service provider's nationality;
  2. an attestation certifying that the service provider is legally established in its country of origin to perform the activities of a travel agency and is not subject to any ban, even temporary, on performing such activities, in cases where an attestation of this kind is issued;
  3. proof of professional qualifications :
    • diplomas, certificates of aptitude or training course qualifications,
    • a sworn statement by the person's present or past employer or principal,
    • testimonials,
    • any document accepted as evidence by the Government-designated official ;
  4. When the profession is not regulated in the country of origin, proof, by any legal means, that the service provider has run the travel agency for at least two years out of the last ten.
  5. a copy of the service provider's professional liability insurance contracts, concluded with an insurance company in a member State of the European Union or EFTA, if the Directive applies to these countries.
  6. proof of guarantees sufficient to cover the service provider's obligations towards its customers in the event of insolvency.
If you are renewing a declaration that you are running a travel agency, the following documents must be sent to the Economy and Employment Department within 15 days of the first trip organised on the territory of the Brussels-Capital Region.
  1. a copy of the service provider's professional liability insurance contracts, concluded with an insurance company in a member State of the European Union or EFTA, if the Directive applies to these countries;
  2. proof of guarantees sufficient to cover the service provider's obligations towards its customers in the event of insolvency.
