Work permit application
Performing artist making more than 34,819 euros in 2019 and 35,761 euros in 2020 - maximum 90 days in Belgium
(art. 9,15 royal decree 09 June 1999)
If the duration of the employment in Belgium is maximum 90 days (in case of successive jobs without any interruption, the previous periods are taken into account to calculate the 90 days), you need to submit the following documents:
If the employer is established in Belgium: Authorisation application to employ a foreign worker during maximum 90 days (in French or in Dutch)
If the employer is established abroad: Authorisation application to employ a foreign worker during maximum 90 days (in French or in Dutch)
- Employment contract for a performing artist (in French or in Dutch)
- Medical certificate for a foreign worker for a foreign worker, in accordance with article 14 of the royal decree dated 9 June 1999 (in French or in Dutch)
- Other required documents
This concerns you if the yearly remuneration of the worker exceeds 34,819 euros (seconded: 2,901.58 euros x 12; NSSO in Belgium: 2,501.36 euros x 13,92) should you file your application in 2019.
Should you file your application in 2020 : remuneration of 35,761 euros (seconded: 2,980.08 euros x 12; NSSO in Belgium: 2,569.04 euros x 13,92)
If that is not the case, see this page.
Please note, if the renewal of an authorisation entails total employment of more than 90 days, you must apply for a permit via the single procedure - and not a work permit.
What is the procedure?
The procedure requires a maximum of 90 days between the time the application is complete with Brussels Economy and Employment, and the issuance of the single permit/the notification of refusal.
